NCYSA CHALLENGE SCHEDULING LEAGUES

All of you should know by now that the NCYSA Challenge Council voted to eliminate offside for U10 Challenge State Cup (Festival) and Challenge Scheduling League regular season play.

 

I’ve been getting questions recently about this rule so I want to clear things up for everyone.

 

This is a statewide rule. This will take effect beginning with the Fall, 2007 season which you are about to embark upon. There are no exceptions. You, as the NCYSA authorized Challenge Scheduling League for your geographical area do not have the option of disregarding this rule.

 

For any scheduling league that has “U9” divisions, keep in mind, NCYSA does not recognize U9. Any “U9” team playing challenge has been registered with NCYSA as a U10 team and these “U9” divisions will have to follow the U10 rules of No Offside.

 

The referee fee will be $28.  This was agreed upon by the U10 Academy committee during the U10 Academy scheduling meeting.

 

This should be perfectly clear now. There should be no questions.
